REACH NIRVANA WHILE IN SAUNA

Startups! We have news that will make your heart do back flips in your chest – Christmas holidays are around the corner! What about that? Even though we are super excited for a whole week of eating like Henry the 8th behind a banquet table, we are all racing to get everything done before catapulting yourself into the pile of goodies.

To prepare your body for all that invasion of “delicious food”, we recommend you take a trip or two to a nearby sauna. Yes, sauna. There is something about entering that hot steamy place that makes us feel like all of our worries are melting away. Pun intended. It can be a perfect finish to a long day at work or a relaxing sensation after a hard workout. At Millenium (Link: http://www.millenium-btc.si/Savna) you can choose between Finnish, Turkish and Infra saunas!

Sweating is great for cleansing your body of toxins and built up tension from a workplace, but we also loose a lot of water and minerals during our visit. Hydration is an important part of sauna experience, so remember to keep drinking water during your stay. Saunas make it easier to lose weight, get a stronger immune system and improve performance at different sports a.k.a. running around to buy Christmas gifts the last minute.

It also has positive effects on people with health problems, including asthma, allergies, bronchitis, blood pressure problems, sore throat and many others. It is not suitable for people with skin conditions, cancer, flu, fever, epilepsy and heart patients. If you are not sure if you can enter the sauna, ask your doctor.

However if you do decide to blow off some steam, here are 10 tips, you should follow if you want to make your visit to sauna as pleasant as possible.

  • You should take enough time for visiting – at least an hour and a half.
  • Do not eat heavy meals before entering. Visit sauna two hours or more after you last meal.
  • You should take a shower before entering and dry yourself with a towel really precisely, because dry body sweats better.
  • Enter quickly and close the door as fast as you can, so there is no air escaping out.
  • Too dry and too hot air can make you breathe heavily so pay attention to your body and go easy on others while pouring water on sauna furnace. You should always ask them if they agree with you doing so.
  • Cool off after finishing in a cool bath then repeat the process.
  • Your first cycle should be short, from 8 to 12 minutes, then you can make other cycles longer. You can either sit or lie down, but always use a towel.
  • Take a cool shower after you finish your visit, but wait 1 or 2 minutes before doing so. If you choose a pool with cold water, only stay in for a couple of moments and not until you feel cold.
  • Rest after your visit and drink a lot of water or unsweetened tea.
  • You should take enough time for visiting – at least an hour and a half.

Pssst, if you don’t have Christmas presents for your loved ones yet, you can get them a gift card for Millenium!
